1. When does the IRS program begin and end?
The filing deadline for tax forms, payments and extensions due on or before April 18, 2017.

For Form 940 and 940-PR, Employer's Annual Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA), Current Tax Year 2017, Prior Tax Years 1998-2016 Installment Agreements, Tax Years 1998-2017, you can begin making payments on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern Time.

For Form 941 Prior Tax Years 2007-2016 and Installment Agreements, Tax Years 1998-2017, you can begin making payments on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern Time.

For Form 941, 941-PR, and 941-SS, Tax Year 2016, Quarter 4, you can begin making payments for current tax due on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until April 1, 2018, 7:00am Eastern Time. For Prior Year payments, you can begin making payments on April 1, 2018, 7:00am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern time.

For Form 941, 941-PR, and 941-SS,Tax Year 2017, Quarter 1, you can begin making payments for current tax due on April 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time until July 1, 2018, 7:00am Eastern Time. For Prior Year payments, you can begin making payments on July 1, 2018, 7:00am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern time.

For Form 941, 941-PR, and 941-SS, Tax Year 2017, Quarter 2, you can begin making payments for current tax due on July 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time until October 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time. For Prior Year payments, you can begin making payments on October 1, 2018, 7:00am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern time.

For Form 941, 941-PR, and 941-SS, Quarter 3, you can begin payments for current tax due on October 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019 , 7am Eastern Time.

For Form 943 and 943-PR Employer's Annual Federal Tax Return for Agricultural Employees, Current Tax Years 2017, Prior Year Quarters 1998 - 2016 and Installment Agreements, Tax Years 1998-2017, you can begin making payments on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern Time.

For Form 944, 944-PR, 944-SP and 944-SS, Employer's Annual Federal Tax Return, Current Tax Year 2017, Prior Years 2015 - 2016 you can begin making payments on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern Time.

For Form 945, Annual Return of Withheld Federal Income Tax, Current Tax Years 2017, Prior Year Quarters 1998-2016 and Installment Agreements, Tax Years 1998-2017, you can begin making payments on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern Time.

For Forms 940, 941, 943, 944, 945 series (to include Form 940X, 941X, Form 941X-PR, Form 943X, Form 943X-PR, Form 944X, Form 944X-PR, Form 944X-SP and Form 945X), Valid Amended or Adjusted Returns Tax Years 2014 through 2016, you can begin making payments on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern Time.

For Forms 941 series (to include Form 941X, 941X-PR), Valid Amended or Adjusted Returns Tax Year 2017, Quarter 4, you can begin making payments on February 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7 am Eastern Time.

For Forms 941 series (to include Form 941X, 941X-PR), Valid Amended or Adjusted Returns Tax Year 2018, Quarter 1, you can begin making payments on May 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7 am Eastern Time.

For Forms 941 series (to include Form 941X, 941X-PR), Valid Amended or Adjusted Returns Tax Year 2018, Quarter 2, you can begin making payments on August 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7 am Eastern Time.

For Forms 941 series (to include Form 941X, 941X-PR), Valid Amended or Adjusted Returns Tax Year 2018, Quarter 3, you can begin making payments on November 1, 2018, 7am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7 am Eastern Time.

For Forms 1041, Current Tax Year 2017 and Prior Years 1998-2016, you can begin making payments on January 1, 2018, 9am Eastern Time until January 1, 2019, 7am Eastern Time.

2. Can I pay taxes for any prior tax years?
Yes. For Form 940, 940-PR, Form 943, 943-PR and Form 945 you can pay Prior Tax Years 2007-2015. For Form 941, 941-PR, and 941-SS you can pay Prior Tax Years 2008-2017and make Installment Agreement payments for Tax Years 1998-2017. For Form 944, 944-SP and 944-SS, you can pay Prior Years 2015 & 2016. For Forms 1041 and 1065 you can pay Prior Years 1998 - 2016. For Forms 2290 you can pay Prior Years 1998 - 2017.

3. I want to make a payment equal to or greater than $100,000. How do I do this?
Payments greater than or equal to $100,000 can be made on a credit card by contacting Official Payments Customer Service Department at 1-888-889-7228.

4. Can I schedule a payment to be made at a future date?
Yes. You can schedule a payment to be made at a future date by using the "AutoPay" feature in the "My Account" section of the Official Payments website. AutoPay is an automated payment feature that will automatically make your payment, per your explicit instructions, on your behalf.

5. Can I make a partial payment?
Yes. You may make partial payments through this system.

7. Can I use more than one card to make my payment?
Yes. However, you must successfully complete two separate transactions and receive two separate confirmation numbers.

8. Can I use my card to pay someone else's taxes?
Yes. You must, however, use their Employer Identification Number (EIN) when making the payment.

9. Can I cancel a payment that has already been processed?
No. Once your payment information is submitted, the transaction is complete and cannot be canceled.

10. How long does it take the IRS to post my payment?
Successfully completed payments are sent to the IRS on the next business day. It usually takes the IRS 5 to 7 days to post the payment. However, when they post this payment it will be posted with an effective date of the successfully completed payment.
