Government agencies cannot absorb customary credit or debit card fees. As a result the service fee covers the cost of processing the transaction.

The service fee is non-refundable except at the sole discretion of Official Payments.

No. There are no additional fees besides the service fee. The service fee covers the cost of processing the payment transaction and is not negotiable. Official Payments receives only a small portion of the fee.
